As Tesla’s highly anticipated Cybertruck nears production, excitement is building around its debut. This electric pickup truck is Tesla’s first new model in three years, and the company is counting on it to be a success. Despite some initial criticisms, the Cybertruck has generated unprecedented interest, with over 1.5 million pre-orders. But can it live up to Elon Musk’s hype and become the best product ever?

Musk is known for his hyperbolic statements, but he has a track record of raising the bar in the auto industry. With the Model Y on its way to becoming the best-selling car worldwide, expectations for the Cybertruck are high. If it delivers on the specs and price point announced in 2019, it could even surpass the Model Y. However, due to inflation, the price is likely to be higher, ranging from $50,000 to $90,000.

Despite the potential price increase, the Cybertruck’s unique design and utility make it an attractive option for many consumers. The stainless steel, paintless body has a brutalist appeal, and Tesla has some of their top people working on the project, including longtime Model S and Model X program manager, David Zhang.

As an electric vehicle specialist, I can confidently say that Tesla’s vehicle programs have never disappointed. While the specs of the Cybertruck may have changed since its initial announcement, the company’s commitment to innovation remains steadfast. With production set to begin at Gigafactory Texas in mid-2023, we’ll soon see if the Cybertruck lives up to all the hype.
